James
Vasquez (Screenwriter/James Sanchez)
James got the inspiration to write “29th and Gay” after accepting a dare to perform stand-up comedy at the now defunct Pedro’s Grill in Los Feliz. Many workshop readings later, he submitted it to one production company. They passed. That was enough motivation for James and fellow Juilliard classmates, Carrie and Nicole, to decide to make the movie on their own.
He’s appeared Off-Broadway with the New York Shakespeare Festival, regionally with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Old Globe Theatre, and Bristol Valley Theatre. Favorites include “Shear Madness”, “The Fantasticks”, and “Brighton Beach Memoirs.” He has appeared in and restaged the annual Christmas production of “Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” directed by Jack O’Brien, for the Old Globe Theatre. He’s also reprising his role of Ms. West Coast, as well as restaging San Diego’s hit production of “Pageant” at Cygnet Theatre. He’s appeared on tv, on the back end of buses, and at just about every theme park in America.
He lives in San Diego with Mark, Otis, and Daisy.
